Given the visual impact of beds due to their size and prominence, there has been the inclination here to put on display the wonders-of-wood. All of the designs shown feature spectacular woods, either by virtue of their great width, their intriguing figure or both. Unlike seating, which is so amenable to production, the beds here are all works of functional art. Even when a design is "reproduced", the end result is unique due to the differences of each piece of wood and the choice of different woods and wood combinations.
